#78. Let people steal my stuff.

This was definitely an exercise that renewed my hope in the goodness of humanity. I left my phone, my wallet, my computer, my backpack, my coffee, my life, sitting on a table in the library while I left to go to the bathroom. There were a lot of people sitting around me who had easy access to my belongings and could have effortlessly stolen every material possession I own.

However when I got back, every item was sitting on the table in the exact spot I had left it.

Thus, humanity is inherently good. Although it is also possible that –although easy targets – the contents of my stained, ragged backpack didn’t appear enticing enough to steal.

HA. Little did you all know, the backpack is in fact a magic backpack that, if stolen, will come to life and grant you three wishes. So who’s laughing now?
