#148. Get turned down at a job interview.

I’ve worked in coffee shops, amusement parks, petting zoos, and restaurants. So far, all of the job interviews I have ever had have ended in a discussion of my availability.

Although I am already working as a waitress, I need a second job. I was hopeful when the small Greek restaurant around the corner from my house took my resume and told me that they were hiring.

The interview only lasted five minutes. I sat down and told the owner that I was a student who would be going back to school in August. She said in her adorable Greek accent, “You seem like a very nice girl, but what you just told me, that confirms that my answer must be: ‘no.'”
